Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday declared state of emergency for three months in 10 provinces impacted by a number of the deadly earthquakes and aftershocks.

So far, more than 8,000 survivors have been rescued from the ruins of buildings, added Erdogan in televised remarks.

Seventy countries had offered help in search and rescue after the quakes and the death toll in Türkiye had risen to 3,549 people, he said.
