The death toll from the massive earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria rose above 8,400 on Wednesday, official data showed, with rescue workers still searching for trapped survivors.
In Türkiye, officials said at least 5,894 people have died.
The Syrian health minister said the number of dead in government-held parts of the country now stood at 1,250, while the casualty toll in rebel-held areas has risen to more than 1,280 deaths on Wednesday.
