The Iranian military unveiled on February 7 its first underground base for fighter jets, which has been designed to withstand possible strikes by U.S. bunker-busting bombs. Oghab 44 airbase– meaning "Eagle" in Farsi– can accommodate "all types of fighter jets and bombers, in addition to drones." The facility's exact location was not revealed, but state media claimed that it is "hundreds of meters under the mountains" and capable of withstanding "bombs by strategic U.S. bombers."
