The death toll from powerful earthquakes that hit southern Türkiye on Monday has risen to 12,873, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority said on Thursday in an update.

Meanwhile, 3,556 people have died in Syria's government-controlled and rebel-held areas, taking earthquakes' toll from two countries to over 16,400 so far.
