The earthquakes have increased the pain of Syria, already suffering from a long civil war. Syrian Ambassador to China Mohammed Hasanein Khaddam tells CGTN's Wang Guan that despite the civil war, the government is trying to help everyone: "All Syrians are our people, the government doesn't have politically-biased perception." He blames Western "support" and "funding" for terrorists for the failure of the ceasefire in Syria though the Syrian government issued amnesties. Also, he appreciates the empathy shown by the Chinese government and the assistance by Chinese humanitarian organizations.
