An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck southern Türkiye in the early hours of February 6, followed by a slightly less strong quake. Cities in southern Türkiye and northern Syria have been hit hard.

On February 8, CGTN Stringer traveled to Hatay Province, near the worst-hit areas, to talk to residents. Some said they do not have enough supplies and can only rely on themselves to take bodies out of the rubble.
