The death toll from powerful earthquakes that hit southern Türkiye on Monday has risen to 19,388 and 77,711 people were injured, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday.
Rescue work is now into the fifth day after two strong quakes ,which also affected Syria, and hundreds of aftershocks.
Over 141,000 personnel, including from foreign countries, are currently working in quake-hit region, Erdogan said in Malatya during a visit to assess damage with officials and meet with earthquake victims.
Meanwhile, according to officials and medics, sources said that at least 3,384 people were killed due to the earthquakes in Syria.
