UN: Sanctions should not interfere with relief for Syria

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged on Thursday that "No sanctions of any kind interfere with relief to the population of Syria in the present moment." He told reporters that the earthquake that struck Türkiye and Syria is one of the biggest natural disasters in our time and the UN's Central Emergency Response Fund has released $25 million to jumpstart the response. He also called on the international community to provide more aid.
