In spring, farmers are busy in the fields, with regional produce operations ramping up throughout China. Farmers in Quzhou County of north China's Hebei Province are busy cultivating fruit and vegetable seedlings in preparation for the upcoming large-scale planting. The county's annual volume of vegetable seedlings has now reached 850 million plants, driving more than 20,000 hectares of planting.
Shangsi County is Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's main sugarcane producing area. The planting area covers 30,000 hectares, generating two million tonnes of production annually. In recent years, the county has increased the mechanization of sugarcane planting, fertilization and transportation, which reduces production costs.
