Syria has been hit hard by the recent earthquakes centered in Türkiye. Their devastation was compounded by a lack of relief supplies, which made rescue efforts more difficult. WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Ahmed Al-Mandhari has inspected the affected areas and called on the international community to support Syria and the Syrian people as much as possible.
