Iskenderun, located on the Mediterranean coast and Türkiye's second-largest port, caught fire and partially collapsed as a result of the recent earthquakes in the country.
The fire was extinguished on February 11, but the remedial and cleaning work already underway will take time to complete.
The disaster may cost insurers hundreds of millions of dollars, which would be the highest losses since the Beirut port in Lebanon exploded in 2020.
