The death toll from the devastating earthquakes in southern Türkiye and Syria has topped 33,000 as rescuers pulled more survivors from the debris a week after the disaster. In Syria, the number of dead has surpassed 3,500. In Türkiye, officials say nearly 30,000 people have been killed by the worst earthquakes to hit the country in 80 years. Rescuers were still finding people clinging to life a week after the quakes. Meanwhile, local authorities worked to maintain order across the disaster zone and began legal action over building collapses. CGTN's reporter was there to find out more.
