A Chinese charter plane carrying essential humanitarian supplies left for quake-hit Syria on the morning of February 14. The plane departed from Nanjing in eastern China, and should arrive in Damascus in the early hours of Wednesday local time. Supplies include first-aid kits, padded-jackets, tents, blankets and other emergency medical equipment. It comes after the second batch of humanitarian supplies from the Red Cross Society of China arrived in quake-hit Syria on February 13. Meanwhile, another plane is expected to depart for Türkiye early on February 15 from Shanghai, carrying warm clothing, sleeping bags, sanitary products and generators.
