2022 was the deadliest year in more than half a decade for Palestinians living in eastern Jerusalem and the West Bank, according to Palestinian health authority figures who report just under 200 people were killed last year by Israeli forces. The death toll is primarily due to Israeli army raids into areas Israeli officials say are pockets of militant resistance.
