Rescue teams dispatched by the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region returned home on a chartered plane Friday afternoon, after completing their rescue missions in Türkiye. They were greeted with a high-profile welcoming ceremony in Beijing. The China Search and Rescue team arrived in Türkiye on February 8 with 82 rescuers and over 20 metric tonnes of equipment, including life detectors. The team rescued six trapped survivors and located 11 people who had died in the disaster. Four people were saved from the ruins by the Hong Kong SAR team. Before leaving Türkiye, Chinese rescuers handed over donations including food, water, tents and medical supplies. Team members shared with CGTN their unforgettable experiences during the rescue operation.
