U.S. and South Korea conducted joint air drill in response to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s missile launch, Yonhap reported on Sunday.
The DPRK said it tested an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Saturday, a day after warning of an "unprecedentedly persistent, strong" response to the upcoming military exercises by the U.S. and South Korea, state media the KCNA reported.
On Sunday, the foreign ministers of Japan, the U.S. and South Korea held an emergency meeting and agreed to strengthen deterrence in wake of the DPRK's latest test, according to a report from Japanese media Sankei.
Japan and the U.S. also conducted a joint military air exercise on Sunday after DPRK's ICBM test, Kyodo News reported.
