On Saturday, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, met with Britain's Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs James Cleverly, at request while attending the Munich Security Conference.
Wang also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra while attending the Munich Security Conference. Wang said openness and pragmatism are an important connotation of China-Netherlands relations.
He also met with Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense Micheal Martin on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. Wang said China-Ireland relations have maintained a momentum of healthy development, adding that China has completely overcome the epidemic's impact, and its economy is recovering strongly, which will bring more opportunities to countries around the world, including Ireland.
