Foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Chinese mainland, in actual use, jumped 14.5 percent year on year to 127.6 billion yuan in 2022, the Ministry of Commerce announced on Monday.

In U.S. dollar terms, the inflow increased by 10 percent year on year, amounting to $19 billion.

The high-tech manufacturing sector saw a significant increase, with a 74.5 percent rise in foreign investment. Overall, high-tech industries experienced a 62.8 percent increase in FDI during the same period.

China attracted 6.3 percent more foreign direct investment in 2022 than the year before and has pledged to further boost foreign trade and investment this year.
