Weaving together elements of classical Chinese and Western music with formidable vocal talent, Chinese bass baritone, Shenyang gave a cross-cultural performance to a London audience, while paying homage to the poetry legacy of the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). At a concert titled "The Journey of Tang Poetry," he performed 21 songs from different composers in several languages including German, French, English and Chinese. As Shenyang presented verses of Tang Dynasty poems through music, British historian Michael Wood offered a narration that interpreted the history and connection between Tang-dynasty poetry and European art.
