Tropical Cyclone Freddy slammed into Madagascar's eastern coast on Wednesday claiming the lives of at least four people and displacing 11,000 others from their homes, a UN spokesman said. Filmed from space, this footage shows the cyclone churning up clouds over the Indian Ocean as it approached Madagascar on February 17. The tropical cyclone was said to have up to an 8,000-kilometer track that could cover Canada's entire width. The Weather Network reported that it had broken cyclone energy records on February 19, surpassing the previous Southern Hemisphere record-holder, Cyclone Fantala.
