Pinglu Canal, China's first man-made waterway after the Grand Canal, is expected to create huge trade gains with ASEAN upon completion in 2026. Wu Peng, the chief advisor of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) Water Transportation Consultants and one of the designers of the canal, says the company envisions shipping traffic to be very busy in the future.
