Sarah Brooker still remembers watching the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony as a nine-year-old. The girl from Arizona in the United States was deeply moved by the display of Chinese culture, particularly the depiction of moveable type, and thus began her encounter with China and Chinese seals. When the time came, she pursued undergraduate and master's degrees in China, focusing on the country's history and art. She developed her fascination for seals – their design, and their importance in politics, religion and social interaction. Today, she is a leading scholar on Chinese seals in the English-speaking world. Check out Sarah's story in "Encounters with China – Sealed with Love".
