Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on Friday announced the return of the country's ambassador in Mexico, local media reported.
"In this way, diplomatic relations between Peru and Mexico are formally at the level of charge d'affaires," the president was quoted as saying.
Boluarte said remarks made by Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador against her administration go against the international right to non-interference.
There has no response from the Mexican side yet.
