It's a crucial period of plum management in spring. In Mixi Village in Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County of southwest China's Guizhou Province, more than 10 households of farmers are busy ploughing and fertilizing 200 mu (13.3 hectares) of local plum fields. Instead of using manual labor, a 1,380-meter mountain railway was built to help farmers transport fertilizer this year. It only takes about 10 minutes to transport goods from the foot of the mountain to the top. Each rail car can transport 200 kilograms of goods each time, greatly improving the planting efficiency for farmers.
