A new device can reportedly 3D print living cells inside the human body. Researchers say they have unveiled a prototype for direct use on internal organs with potential use as an all-in-one endoscopic surgical tool. Engineers developed a miniature and flexible soft robotic arm that could print 3D biomaterial directly onto organs inside a person's body. A 2019 study describes organ bioprinting as the use of 3D-printing technologies to assemble multiple cell types, growth factors and biomaterials to produce bioartificial organs that may imitate their natural counterparts.
