Finnish parliament passes legislation enabling NATO membership

The Finnish parliament on Wednesday approved legislation allowing the Nordic country to become a NATO member, according to a statement.
The proposal was approved by a vote of 184-7, the parliament said.
However, it still requires the Finnish president's approval.
