Ecological civilization has become a much more popular topic at the Two Sessions. Compared with 2016 when there were less than 10 motions and proposals related to nature, the number increased significantly to over 70 last year.

The topics have extended as well over the years from just pollution control to green development, biodiversity conservation, and climate change. Ahimsa Campos-Arceiz, professor and principle investigator of Megafauna Ecology and Conservation Group at Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, and Li Yuhan, team leader of Yangtze Delta Region Office at Shan Shui Conservation Center shared their understanding of "the modernization of harmony between humanity and nature."
