Fierce fighting continues in eastern Ukraine and for control of the city of Bakhmut. The Russian Defense Ministry said its troops attacked Ukrainian soldiers and weapons in Kupyansk and Lyman. Ukrainian aircraft have also been shot down. Ukraine says its forces are clinging to the eastern city of Bakhmut. President Vladimir Putin said a Ukrainian sabotage group entered a Russian border region on Thursday and opened fire on civilians. He called this a "terrorist act."
