The first session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top political advisory body, opens at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Wang Yang, chairman of the CPPCC's 13th National Committee, is scheduled to deliver the work report of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee to the session.

This year, CPPCC members continue to speak to the public and take questions from the media at the Members' Corridor before the opening session.
