China is upgrading and modernizing its fisheries industry by vigorously developing smart aquaculture capabilities aboard giant tailored vessels. The nation attaches great importance to developing modern marine pastures and pelagic fisheries, such as deep-water cages and aquaculture boats, to complement its long coastline and rich marine resources. Last May, China introduced the world's first 100,000-ton smart aquaculture vessel. Smart fisheries help expand aquaculture to far-reaching waters, with less marine pollution and stronger resilience to natural disasters. It realizes an innovative mobile fish farming model regarded as a technological breakthrough for China's deep-sea aquaculture industry.
