Liaoning Province in northeast China has completed the preparation of a three-year action plan to afforest abandoned mines and restore biological systems along major rivers. The plan aims to prevent disasters as well as water and soil contamination. It plans to plant 11.37 million trees on over 30,000 hectares by 2025.
