Throughout Chinese art history, paintings and calligraphy were usually reproduced by recognized authorities. But, in most cases, the ancient Chinese could only copy images by hand. This technique has been passed down to this day. So, how can ancient paintings and calligraphy be copied by hand today? And why should modern people reproduce ancient paintings and calligraphy? Wang He, a research fellow and copyist of ancient paintings and calligraphy at the Palace Museum, uses "Driving Away Devils" as an example to explain.
