Authorities hunt al-Qaeda elements escaped from Mauritanian prison

The Mauritanian authorities are tracking down dangerous al-Qaeda elements who escaped from a prison in the capital city of Nouakchott, Al-Arabiya reported on Monday.
Two of the escapees were participants in prior attacks on Mauritanian army barracks.
