A ceremony to mark the authorization by the China Media Group (CMG) of its premium programmes to be broadcast in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), and media cooperation on sports events was held in Beijing on Monday, a new round of cooperation between the two sides.

Chief Executive of the Macao SAR Ho Iat Seng, CMG President Shen Haixiong and Yang Wanming, deputy director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, among others, attended the ceremony.

Ho said that CMG's premium programs will enable Macao residents to better understand the historical process of the Chinese path to modernization, adding that Macao will fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and faithfully implement the principle of "One Country, Two Systems."

He hoped to continue to make good use of various cooperation mechanisms established between the Macao SAR government and CMG, which have progressed smoothly and achieved fruitful results.

Shen pointed out that a series of premium CMG programs, focusing on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), will be broadcast in Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese in Macao, which will help local compatriots better understand the tremendous changes in the motherland, and continuously enhance their confidence in a brighter future. 

CMG will fully and faithfully implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the CPC on the development of Macao, and work together with the regional government to write a new chapter in the successful practice of "One Country, Two Systems" with Macao characteristics, Shen said.
