Chinese engineers have completed the underwater construction and main pier sealing phase of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway's Zhongxiang Hanjiang River Railway Bridge, allowing the construction of the main tower to begin.

When completed, the railway will link the Yangtze River Delta urban cluster with cities in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle in southwest China.
