Yangpota Village in Zhongyang County, north China's Shanxi Province, has been using a hydroponic system to grow vegetables in greenhouses since November. The technique allows vegetables to grow in both vertical and horizontal structures without soil, making full use of the limited space in a greenhouse. Workers there say it only takes 20 days to have a harvest and the vegetable yield has more than doubled thanks to the system.
