Deputy to the 14th National People's Congress, Wang Hong was part of Sunday night's deliberations that was attended by the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Xi Jinping. "General Secretary Xi was very affable," she told CGTN in an interview. As a university professor in micro- and nano-robotics, Wang called for more efforts in nurturing high-tech talent, specifically in innovative research. She said high-quality development relies on technologies, thus necessitating comprehensive talent development. Wang added that she would encourage her students to conduct more research in order to leverage cutting-edge technologies for the needs of the country and society.
