Since the explosion of the Nord Stream gas pipeline in September 2022, scientists and researchers conducted studies showing that the devastating impact of the explosion on the Baltic Sea and marine ecosystem is incalculable. Hans Sanderson, a senior researcher at the department of Environmental Science at Aarhus University in Denmark, said there was no proper remedy to the environmental damage.
