This year's Two Sessions feature 442 ethnic minority deputies, accounting for 14.85 percent of the total. All 56 ethnic groups across the country are represented. 

During the sessions, they deliberate on reports on the country's economic and political affairs as well as draft laws with the people's interests and social development in mind. Issues they focus on include rural revitalization, ethnic culture preservation, environmental conservation and education.
