Xi Jinping, the newly elected president of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the PRC, made a public pledge of allegiance to the Constitution at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday.
Nearly 3,000 deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) witnessed the moment. The deputies said that the election of Xi Jinping as president of the country and chairman of the Central Military Commission is what the Communist Party of China aspires to, the people hope for, and everyone expects.
