Shinsyu Hida is 75 years old and was originally a portrait photographer. Now he is dedicated to documenting the disaster zone around Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, which had an incident in 2011. The Japanese government announced in January 2023 that it would release radioactive wastewater from the nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean in the spring or summer of this year, and has caused opposition from public opinion in Japan and abroad.
