Chinese shuttlers Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping swept Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun of South Korea 21-4, 21-15 to win the mixed doubles title at the German Open in Mulheim, Germany on Sunday.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Li Shifeng lost to Ng Ka Long Angus from Hong Kong Administrative Region 20-22, 21-18, 21-18 to take a silver medal.

The Feng/Huang duo have taken 17 consecutive wins in the 2023 season. Huang said she and her new partner had an interesting experience to solve problems through games.
"There are many games before the world championships which will take place in August. We want to play every game, every leg well," said the 28-year-old, "...I always have strong desire to win, so I am willing to conquer difficulties to make wins. I will spare no efforts if I know I can do better."
Their world ranking will move to Number 8 after only eight legs this year.

Meanwhile, Li said he had room for improvement after the game against Hong Kong's top player Ng, who is ranked world No. 15.
"My opponent was very tenacious, while I had ups and downs psychologically, especially I was not patient enough in long rallies. I was also not bold, firm and decisive enough in the last several points."
The young player went on to say "I had never won over Ng before, and there is gap between us. I had opportunities today, so I feel pity for the result."

In the women's singles, Japanese Akane Yamaguchi swept South Korean An Se-young 21-11, 21-14 to win the gold medal, while South Koreans dominated other events, as Choi Sol-gyu/Kim Won-ho defeated compatriots Kang Min-hyuk/Seo Seung-jae 21-19, 18-21, 21-19 in the men's doubles, and Baek Ha-na/Lee So-hee beat Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida of Japan 21-19, 21-15 in the women's doubles.
