It has become a common practice for the premier of the State Council to meet with journalists to answer questions, after the closing of an annual session of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.

On March 13, after the closing ceremony of the first session of the 14th NPC, newly-appointed Premier Li Qiang held a press conference at "the Golden Hall" of the Great Hall of the People. 

The premier answered 10 questions from the press on topics, including China's economic development trends, the prospects of Hong Kong and Macao, the Taiwan question, and China-U.S. relations. He also mentioned the priorities and goals of the new government is to realize the blueprint outlined by the 20th CPC National Congress.
