Because of the difficult natural environment, Changyupu Village in Zhangjiajie City, central China's Hunan Province, was notably poor in the 1940s. Because of the rapid loss of water in the karst landform and the presence of stone mountains everywhere, there were no fields. The village has been turned into a place surrounded by lush forests and fertile terraced fields thanks to 10 years of painstaking efforts. As spring approaches, the rapeseed blossoms have woven a golden carpet across the field, presenting a stunning sight in this formerly barren landscape.
