Farmers in Shanwei City, South China's Guangdong Province, one of China's major rice-producing regions, are busy transplanting early-season rice seedlings plowed with smart farming technology.

It uses China's independently developed BeiDou Navigation Satellite System for precise location and can complete one hectare of field transplantation in just one and a half hours. 

In Haifeng County, unmanned rice transplanters are in operation and controlled by this smart system.
