Ohio sued Norfolk SouthernRailway over the derailment of a train carrying toxic materials in East Palestine last month, the state's attorney general announced on Tuesday, aiming to make the railroad pay for the cleanup and environmental damage. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said that the fallout from the Feb. 3 derailment would reverberate for many years. Also, the federal lawsuit will seek to force the company to pay for groundwater and soil monitoring in the years ahead and economic losses in the village of East Palestine and surrounding areas.
