Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the Kremlin on Wednesday.
Putin said significant results have been achieved in Syria in the fight against international terrorism, according to a Kremlin press release.
Putin also noted that bilateral trade between the two countries had increased by 7 percent in 2022.
Meanwhile, Assad thanked Putin for Russia's help after the deadly earthquakes that hit the country last month, news agency RIA reported.
