From a rural Party branch secretary to the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese President, Xi Jinping always carries the country in mind and sees himself as the people's servant.
Xi said he gained his understanding of the meaning of the word "people" through his experience in Liangjiahe village in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, where he worked as a farmer for seven years, an experience that strengthened his determination to "serve the people" – a principle he has adhered to over the decades.
"Life is about seeking a sense of fulfillment and doing something practical. In other words, it's about doing something meaningful for the people," Xi said.
