On Friday, Japan activated specialized equipment that is needed to prepare for the discharge of radioactive Fukushima wastewater. Japan has disregarded massive protests and criticism at home and abroad in announcing that it will release more than a million tonnes of radioactive wastewater into the Pacific Ocean in early 2023.
