In the circle of life, some have to face the harsh reality of someone they love living with Alzheimer's.

Born in north China's Inner Mongolia, film director Qiao Sixue once ran into a woman with Alzheimer's during her stay and study in France. Qiao was inspired by the encounter, which made her reflect on her relationship with her own mother, and wrote a script entitled "Wondering on the blue prairie." That script later became the film "The Cord of Life," which premieres in China on March 18.

CGTN's Zhang Meng interviewed Qiao and the production team, who are all senior figures in the industry, to find out how the new wave of young Chinese directors are forming their own unique ways of telling stories.
